In situations where microphone placement on talent requires

  • both body and voice to be free
  • flexibility of movement
  • concealment
  • the natural sound of the human voice
  • withstand the toughest of conditions

your choice of microphone can make or break the performance.

Bodyworn d:screet™ Miniature mics and accessories are products designed for professional voice reproduction in broadcast, film installation and field applications. These versatile mics can be easily positioned anywhere on the body to capture the best possible sound for your specific assignment.

"DPA Bodyworn Microphones are so reliable that you can have them rigged under makeup or clothes and you know they are going to work all day and not give you any problems," says Oscar-winning production sound mixer Simon Hayes who uses them on most of his movies.

Most recently this included Marvel’s film adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy, in which DPA d:screet™ Mics took precedence over booms in a lot of scenes.   "This meant that, in the final mix, at least 75% of the dialogue that made its way into the movie was recorded on DPA d:screet™ 4071s and 4061s" mics, Hayes says.

When the DPA bodyworn mic is placed correctly on the talent, it captures the natural sound of the human voice.  Even when used in the toughest conditions, DPA Bodyworn Microphones ensure that the talent sounds natural and amazing.

DPA d:screet™ miniature microphones also made their way onto the set of Mad Max: Fury Road.

Ben Osmo, Production Sound Mixer stated that On Fury Road, vehicle noises often drowned out the dialogue, particularly if actors were in the vehicles or standing near them, so Osmo close miked everyone to get usable guide tracks.   "We used low sensitivity d:screet 4063 Miniature Microphones for the eight principle cast members who were inside the War Rig cabin and these provided all dialogue and all transmitted sound FX," Osmo explains.  Costume 'genius' Andrea Hood was responsible for placing the DPA Miniature Microphones inside the actors' costumes so they remained invisible.
