Onkyo has rolled out its next generation, in-house developed wireless multi-room audio distribution system, FlareConnect™.
Enabled via a simple firmware upgrade, FlareConnect™* shares, distributes and synchronises music from network-attached and external audio sources (using dual-band 5 GHz / 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi®) between selected Onkyo audio-video/hi-fi components/systems and compatible wireless speakers.
FlareConnect™ allows users to enjoy effortless multi-room playback of LP records, CDs, on-demand network music services and many more music sources, from anywhere in the home.
Users can control multi-room audio, manage playback across the home and cast music to individual or grouped FlareConnect™ equipped speakers using the free-to-download Onkyo Controller app.
Playlists can be constructed via the app using the PlayQueue feature built into FlareConnect™. Music can be selected from a music server or USB memory and added into a playlist ready for continuous playback.
FlareConnect™ also offers the flexibility to change the standard ‘Master-Slave’ device assignment protocol that lies at the heart of any multi-room system. This means any suitable FlareConnect™. -equipped device, in any room, can be selected as the ‘master’ device.
