Q. Why are there 2 versions, which one should I use?

A. For pre-assembled cables, use NE8MX or NE8MX-B. This version has a clam shell boot which can be attached around the cable.  For non pre-assembled cables, use NE8MX-1 or NE8MX-B-1. This version has a regular boot which is slid on to the cable prior to attaching an RJ45.

Q. Do etherCON cable carriers include an RJ45 connector?

A. No, the carrier is assembled around an RJ45, converting it into an etherCON connector.

Q.  I am making my own cables, which RJ45 should I use?

A. Most RJ45s should fit, but if you want to be sure, Neutrik have tested these RJ45s to ensure best fit

Q. What is the maximum diameter of cable that can be used?

A. NE8MX / NE8MX-B can accept cables with a 4.5-8.0mm diameter NE8MX-1 / NE8MX-B-1 can accept cables with a 3.5-8.0mm diameter.

Q. How do I colour code my connectors?

A. Use BSX series boots

Q.  How do I join 2 x cables together?

A. With NE8FF or NE8FFX6-W

Q.  Are there any tools available to assist with assembly?

A. Yes, the HTX hand tightening tool makes tightening up the boot easier on the hands.

Q. Which etherCON chassis connectors are compatible?

A. All etherCON chassis connectors are compatible, except for NE8FDY-C6 & NE8FDY-C6-B
