Onkyo has released a firmware update to add Deezer support to a range of its AV receivers and network audio devices. Deezer is one of the most popular subscription-based, streaming music services, with access to a library of more than 53 million songs.

On top of the existing tiers of Deezer’s service, the firmware update will also enable access to Deezer HiFi. Subscribing to this means it is possible for users to enjoy CD quality, lossless (16bit / 44.1kHz) FLAC music files, with Deezer currently providing some 36 million tracks to choose from.

Deezer HiFi includes the Flow functionality allowing users to listen to a personalised playlist based on listening tastes. Flow also introduces selected new songs, helping the listener to discover exciting new artists, as well as listen to known favourite soundtracks.

The more that Flow is used, the better it becomes at understanding the listener's taste. Curated by music lovers, this feature delivers a constant flow of engaging music throughout the day.

Current Onkyo products available in Australia that support Deezer HiFi via the firmware update are:

AV Receivers

Network CD Receiver

Network Players

Network Stereo Receiver

Micro System

More Onkyo models will feature the firmware update at a later date, including AV receivers TX-RZ830 and TX-RZ730 due to be released in September/October 2018.
