Bluesound Professional, in partnership with the Teutonic Castle in Szczytno, Poland (Zamek Krzyżacki w Szczytnie) would like to share the success story of their recent implementation of Bluesound Professional equipment to communicate the castle’s cultural and historical significance. 
The ruins of the Teutonic Castle in Szczytno is one of Poland’s oldest and most peculiar historical monuments. Dating back to the Middle Ages, the castle was first a watchtower in 1266 and became a wooden castle which burned down during the Lithuanian invasion in 1370. In its place, a teutonic castle was built out of stone and brick. As centuries passed, the castle was a center of economic and social life, but during World War I the city was completely devastated. To protect the site, an extensive restoration project implemented by the Szczytno City Commune began in 2018 and lasted until May 2021. The main goal of the project was to restore the Teutonic Castle into a tourist-friendly area and preserve its cultural heritage.
To draw attention to the castle’s historical significance, loudspeakers were needed in various areas to provide voice narration and cultural-specific music. Bluesound Professional was uniquely positioned with commercially-built audio equipment to meet the needs of the installation. Poland-based A/V integrator Matcom turned to Bluesound Professional’s Polish distributor Linearic/Akustyk to install speakers that could withstand the waivering outdoor conditions at the castle site and deliver high-quality audio. The BSP500 PoE+/PoE++ speakers, with their weather-resistant IP65 rating, local content storage feature and robust qualities were equipped to support the demands of this project.
