Reaching New Heights: JBL Unveils Three New Additions to the Summit Series at HIGH END Munich 2025

JBL has once again ascended to new altitudes in loudspeaker innovation. At HIGH END Munich 2025, HARMAN Luxury Audio Group announced the world debut of three breathtaking additions to the JBL Summit Series — a range already revered for its combination of acoustic precision, iconic design, and emotional musicality.

Expanding the Summit Series from two models (the iconic Everest and K2) to five, the introduction of Summit Makalu, Summit Pumori, and Summit Ama brings a fresh level of refinement and power to JBL’s most elite lineup, each inspired by a legendary Himalayan peak.

Summit Makalu| A Force of Nature

Taking its name from the world's fifth-highest mountain, the Summit Makalu is the new flagship of the series — a commanding 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker built for large, immersive listening environments. Its 12-inch woofer and 8-inch midrange driver feature JBL’s proprietary HC4 composite cones, working in harmony with a D2 compression driver and precision-molded HDI™ Sonoglass® horn. The result? Deep, articulate bass, soaring mids, and crystal-clear imaging. Makalu’s bold aesthetics are available in rich ebony veneer with gold accents or high-gloss piano black with platinum detailing, making as strong a visual impact as it does sonic.

Summit Pumori| Balanced and Bold

Inspired by the majestic "Daughter of Everest," Summit Pumori delivers a graceful yet powerful performance. This 3-way floor stander is voiced for exceptional musical balance, pairing a 10-inch woofer with an 8-inch midrange driver and the same acclaimed D2 compression driver and HDI™ horn found across the Summit range. The Pumori blends elegance and strength with contoured cabinetry and premium finishes, creating a deeply engaging listening experience that’s as emotionally resonant as it is acoustically precise.

Summit Ama | Clarity in Compact Form

Completing the trio is the Summit Ama, named after Ama Dablam — one of the Himalayas’ most iconic peaks. Designed for smaller spaces or stand-mounted installations, this 2-way loudspeaker is compact yet remarkably powerful. An 8-inch HC4 cone woofer is paired with a D2 compression driver and HDI™ horn to provide unmatched clarity, control, and imaging. Resting on a custom steel-and-aluminum stand, the Ama proves that size doesn’t limit performance.

Artistry in Every Detail

More than just a showcase of JBL's advanced acoustic engineering, the Summit Series is a testament to craftsmanship. Every model is built with attention to detail: heavily braced, resonance-free cabinets, carbon fiber–wrapped rhodium-plated binding posts, MultiCap™ crossover networks, and JBL IsoAcoustics™ isolation feet come standard. These are not just speakers — they’re sculptural expressions of sonic excellence.
