Last week, Amber Technology exhibited at the tenth annual Integrate exhibition in Sydney - a three-day event showcasing the latest in AV technology from around the world.

It takes more than aesthetics to impress top FOH Engineers in the music industry. Karl “Snake” Newton has worked on projects with Robbie Williams, Pet Shop Boys and Craig David and knows and appreciates the level of skill and expertise that goes into great live audio. Just recently, he worked with Harry Styles for his world tour production and relied on DPA Microphones to mic up the entire drum kit, as they dotted their way across Europe before landing in Australia in April 2018.

Marlan Barry is among the world's most accomplished and recognised classical music and acoustic recording producers, having served as the head recording engineer for Houston Grand Opera for 15 years. He specialises in a range of different styles, including operatic, electro-acoustic and jazz. He recently assumed the recording and post-production responsibilities for The Orchestra Now main concert series, as well as The Bard Music Festival at the Frank Gehry designed Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. Just recently, whilst in the midst of recording Nicholas Phan’s album “Gods & Monsters”, he used DPA’s d:dicate 4003 Omnidirectional Microphone.

There are very few microphones existing in the world that can withstand the extreme cold, moisture and wind inherent in Antarctica’s harsh environment and documentary maker Nerio Gutierrez (Playground Estudio) knows DPA is arguably the best. Last year, he and his team spent six weeks aboard the Spanish Navy’s scientific vessel, Hesperides, recording the sounds of penguin colonies, whales, zodiacs and various other marine life both on and offshore, for his film Antarctica: A Message from the Frozen Planet.

Between March and June, CEDIA organised a series of Tech Forum events in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.
