As the weather turns cold and we bunker down for winter, thoughts are turning to indoor activities such as watching movies, playing video games and catching all the latest live sporting action. The best place to catch the action is from the comfort of a warm, cosy living room or a dedicated cinema room.

Sydneysiders and visitors alike look forward to heading out into the wintery nights to view the installations created every year as part of the Vivid Festival, which kicks off today and runs until June 18 throughout the city, Taronga Zoo and Botanical Gardens.

The team at Amber Technology were pleased to support BLAC Design at the recent Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show with their award winning 'A Garden Called Frank'. A Garden Called Frank is named for BLAC's frank approach to garden design - pairing strong architectural lines with elegant textural planting to deliver a harmonious and timeless result.

Australia's favourite little pig goes a long way

Just over two decades ago, Julius Chan Sales Engineer Specialist Audio Products at Amber Technology was involved in a small Australian film as sound supervisor. This movie was “Babe” released in 1995 which went on to take over $250 million at the box office worldwide. It also collected a few boxes of award trophies, with 19 wins and 23 nominations, including the Academy Award for Best Effects, Visual Effects and a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical. For sound, it won Best Sound Editing - Animated Feature – ADR at the Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Awards.

Today we have our fingers crossed for the Mad Max Fury Road team, who have a record ten nominations for the 2016 Academy Awards®, including Ben Osmo who is one of the team nominated for Sound Editing. Ben uses DPA Microphones for his work, and we are proud to support him in his past and future endeavours.

Congratulations to custom installer Reuben Rego from Boutique AV in Melbourne who won a place in the 2015 CEPro Great Looking Racks competition. 

For the past six years, U.S. trade magazine for the custom installation market CEPro have run a “Great Looking Racks” contest, presented by Middle Atlantic Products.  In 2015, CEPro and Middle Atlantic welcomed submissions from Australia to their contest. 

In 1915, Peter Laurits Jenson an inventor, changed the world of sound.  He was the inventor behind electronically amplified sound, through his discovery, the loudspeaker.  2015 marks the 100th Anniversary of the invention of the Danish Loudspeaker.
